Garage update {Part 2}

Last week I shared the first part of my garage update. I have a few more pieces to share today, and even a few more for later this week! This project really took me forever...

I had a lot of extra space inside the new tool bench, and I needed some organized storage. I decided to buy shoe storage bins with snap on lids from Target. They keep the dust out and are easy to see through.

I made some chalkboard labels for the front of them. Yes, in the shape of my logo. Does this make me really perfect or a few steps past obsessed? (That's a rhetorical question.)

I built a fancy new workbench from this Ana White plan. It only cost about $25 bucks to build and it was done (and fancy painted!) in a few hours.

I added an extra screw for my sawdust brush and some extra 2x4 boards on the bottom for a wider shelf. The top is just a chunk of 3/4" plywood.

And who wants a boring workbench? Not this lady! I used painter's tape to tape off a fun chevron pattern and painted it a few different colors of teal.

I put casting wheels on the bottom of the workbench so I can easily move it around my garage. I got the idea from my table saw that's on wheels. I loved how easy it was to rearrange my area based on the project I'm working on. It really helps when you have limited space!

I even whipped up a matching (chevron) work apron from this Ana plan too! I found the fabric at Hobby Lobby for 50% off. It makes it so much easier to find my pencil, measuring tape and whatever else I need and spend half my time looking for.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll share the last piece of my garage update soon, I have a fancy miter saw cart to match my fancy workbench! If you missed the first piece of my update you can find it here

  1. Seeing your work is motivating me to want to work on organizing my garage, oh at 9:30 on a Sunday night. Haha. =D I'll have to add it to my schedule and refer back to your post to get motivated again! :)
