Did you guys catch my Fourth of July pennant banners? If you missed them, keep them in mind for next year!
I spent yesterday un-decorating (and cleaning up! Whew!) from the holiday weekend. I always feel like my house looks so boring after a holiday. So I had to put up a little something else.
I loved my Fourth of July pennant banners so much I decided to stick with the same idea but in .... da da da dummmmmm... CHALKBOARD! Yes!
I used the same process (find the full tutorial here).
But basically, I cut my 1/4" plywood to 9 inches (that's how tall my pennants are). And then drew on the pennants. (They are 7.5" wide so I made a dot every 7.5" and then connected the dots.)
The easiest way I found to cut them is to use my miter saw set at 22.5 degrees.
It goes so fast that way!
I stacked them up, clamped them together and drilled holes in each corner.
Then I just spray painted them with Rust-oleum's chalkboard paint. Added some twine and hung them up!
Since I knew I wanted to hang it above my bar, I painted both sides so I could write on both! These babies are so versatile!
I've also made a few other wooden pennant banners that I wanted to share... A 'relax' one for our back patio.
And a 'Welcome home' one for one of my friends' husband's homecoming! Yay!
