Our Christmas cards aren't all out yet... Once again, I'm behind! That's ok, you all understand, right? (Don't tell me if you don't!)
Our Christmas is a little depressing this year... Although it's only our second Christmas married, we've spent eight of the last nine Christmases together. We used to have Christmas Eve dinner with my family, then go spend the evening with his dad, exchange our gifts to each other and then meet my family at midnight mass. It never was intentionally a tradition, but it developed into one.
Last year, we spent the evening with his family and then Christmas day with my dad's side of the family. Remembering last year is extra special this year, for two reasons. I lost my Grandpa Reed in June and I am so very thankful that we were all together with him for last Christmas. And Reason #2 is that it's our first Christmas apart in a long time! Remembering how much fun we had last year helps a lot.
This year, I'm lucky enough to spend the day with my mom's whole side of the family. Every single one of us... except the husband of course. The goal is to be thankful for what I have. And I have a lot of family who loves me very much. I'm so blessed to be able to share the holidays with them.
